MI Aesthetic was established by Nurse and Aesthetic Practitioner, Mandy Irving.
MI Aesthetics specialised in Aesthetic Treatments such as Skin Peels, Anti-Wrinkle Injections and Lip Fillers.
I was approached at first to do a website for this startup company. The branding had been done by the client and lacked a clinical, high-end feel that would attract the demographic for Aesthetics in the area.
Mandy knew her market and wanted to target women between 30 and 65 in the area and wanted me to use a version of purple as it is her favorite colour.
Upon visiting the clinic, I noticed many really liked gold as well as purple, so I included that into the logo. The royal purple and gold work together to create a regal feel. I used a simple font to portray a clinical feel and used a script font for “MI” to make the clinic more feminine and approachable. Upon doing the initial concepts for the new branding I used several different background colours, but found the white to be the cleanest and clinical.
In emerging markets, the gradual breakdown of cultural, societal and gender barriers over time has enabled more women to receive an education and join the workforce. As these women join the ‘urban elite’, they are delaying getting married and having children and as a result, have more disposable income and the freedom to choose how this is spent. Growth in population between the age of 30 to 65 years is widening the target consumer base as signs of aging such as wrinkles, lack of skin elasticity, and dark spots appear prominently in these years.
